10 Things Nana Agradaa Cannot Do While in Prison

Following her conviction and sentencing to 15 years’ imprisonment with hard labour by an Accra Circuit Court on July 3, 2025, Nana Agradaa must now abide by the stringent rules of the Ghana Prisons Service.
From severely limited communication privileges and restricted visitation to mandatory labour duties and supervised religious activities, her daily life is governed by the Prisons Service Act and official prison regulations.
MyNewsGh.Com brings you 10 Things Nana Agradaa Cannot Do While in Prison. Continue reading the story below.

1. Conduct Live Television Broadcasts
As a prisoner, Nana Agradaa cannot continue her televised “money-doubling” ministry on Today-TV, Thunder TV, or Ice1 TV. All of her stations were shut down by authorities for operating without proper broadcast licenses, and inmates have no access to such media platforms.
2. Possess a Personal Mobile Phone
Prisoners in Ghana are expressly forbidden from owning or freely operating personal mobile phones. While facilities maintain communication centres for supervised calls, any private smartphone in a cell is a prohibited item under prison rules.
3. Receive Unrestricted Visits
Under Section 38 of the Prisons Service Act, she is entitled to only one visit every two weeks, and all visits must take place under the watchful eye of a prison officer. Any additional or unsupervised visit requires exceptional written permission from the officer in charge.
4. Send or Receive Unlimited Correspondence
Section 39 limits each sentenced prisoner to writing one letter and receiving one letter or telegram every two weeks. Requests for extra correspondence are subject to the discretion of the officer in charge of the prison.
5. Access the Internet or Social Media Unsupervised
Inmates are banned from unsupervised internet use, including social-media platforms. Any computer use is restricted to approved educational or legal purposes under strict oversight, and personal data connections are not permitted.
6. Make Unscheduled Phone Calls
All telephone communication is routed through designated prison communication centres with tightly controlled call times. Private or unscheduled calls are prohibited, and any breach can lead to disciplinary action.
7. Host Public Church Services and “Sika Gari” Rituals
While inmates may attend religious services held within the prison, she cannot organize public gatherings or replicate her “all-night” money-multiplication ceremonies at Heaven Way Champion Ministries. Religious activities are confined to the prison chapel and must comply with regulations under Section 40.
8. Refuse Assigned Prison Labour
Her 15-year sentence includes hard labour, and under Section 42 every prisoner is required to participate in assigned work duties unless a medical officer certifies otherwise. Refusal to comply can result in further penalties.
9. Manage Her Media Outlets Remotely
She cannot direct or oversee operations at Today-TV, Thunder TV, or any other media outlet from prison, as inmates lack access to the necessary broadcasting infrastructure and communication privileges.
10. Escape Overcrowded, Under-Resourced Conditions
Finally, Nsawam Prison, where convicted inmates like Nana Agradaa are held, facilities built for 717 inmates now house over five times that number. She cannot avoid the resulting poor living conditions, including meager daily rations of about GH¢1.80 per inmate.
