2 UDS senior members dead

The University for Development Studies (UDS) is grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of two of its highly respected academic figures — Ing. Prof. Shaibu Abdul-Ganiyu, Dean of the School of Engineering, and Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Atami of the School of Business.
In a solemn announcement, the University described the passing of the two distinguished scholars as a significant blow to the UDS community.
Both men were more than academics; they were mentors, leaders, and unwavering contributors to the development and excellence of the institution.
“These tragic losses are profoundly felt across the entire university community,” the statement read. “Ing. Prof. Abdul-Ganiyu and Rev. Dr. Atami were not only dedicated scholars and mentors, but also pillars of knowledge, inspiration, and service who contributed immensely to the growth and excellence of the University.”
Ing. Prof. Abdul-Ganiyu was admired for his visionary leadership and commitment to the engineering discipline, while Rev. Dr. Atami’s influence extended beyond business lectures, offering spiritual guidance and academic mentorship to countless students.
The University expressed its deepest sympathies to the families, friends, colleagues, and students affected by the loss, saying, “May their souls rest in perfect peace, and may their legacies continue to inspire all who knew them.”
