2025 budget to reflect 24-hour economy and Women’s Development Bank plans –Abdul Aziz

The former Member of Parliament for Mion, Mohammed Abdul Aziz, has revealed that several campaign promises made by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be reflected in the 2025 budget.
He confirmed that initiatives such as the 24-hour economy and the establishment of a National Women’s Development Bank will feature prominently in the financial plan for the year.
“Most of the campaign pledges we made will find expression in this 2025 budget,” he assured in an interview on Joy Prime monitored by MyNewsGh.
The 24-hour economy policy, a flagship initiative of the NDC, aims to create employment opportunities by encouraging businesses to operate around the clock.
According to Abdul Aziz, this policy will be supported by measures in the budget to ensure its successful implementation.
Additionally, he mentioned that the establishment of the National Women’s Development Bank would provide financial support for women entrepreneurs, empowering them to expand their businesses and contribute more to the economy.
Abdul Aziz also noted that road tolls would be reintroduced but in a digital format with realistic pricing. He stated that luxury vehicle owners would pay higher tolls to support infrastructure development.
On the issue of allowances for assembly members, the former MP suggested that the conversation should be approached cautiously, considering that many assembly members are already on government payroll.
