We’re not even halfway through the year, and 2025 has already thrown us for a loop, from U.S. President Donald Trump’s tax tariffs to global unrest.
The world craves some relief. No wonder we’re always looking to celebrity gossip for light-hearted reading. Talking about light-heartedness, it appears Celebville is feeling all the feels and announcing engagements like giving away sweepstakes holiday prizes.

#1. Zendaya and Tom Holland
This was unexpected for a couple who’ve been playing it coy since 2016 and only confirmed their relationship in 2021.
The ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ stars are notoriously private and dead set on keeping their romance under wraps. Infamous for dodging questions from the paparazzi and media alike, Zendaya and Holland have done a good job of keeping things low-key.
But the gossip shifted into overdrive when the starlet was spotted on the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet flashing a giant diamond ring on her left hand.
When asked about their relationship status, Zendaya shrugged her shoulders. A day later a source confirmed that Holland popped the question.
Our verdict is that the couple would have eloped to a private island and returned with the rest of the world blissfully unaware of their secret engagement.
#2. Kayleigh Schwark and Naked DJ
Shocked doesn’t even begin to describe the engagement of this ‘Young, Famous & African’ couple.
The reality TV stars played out their romance to millions of viewers on the Netflix show, warts and all. Schwark’s yearning for a long-term commitment from the Metro FM host was never forthcoming, resulting in tensions between the two.
In the third season of the reality series, Quinton Masina, AKA Naked DJ, proposed to the former soccer player and she said “Yes!”
Despite their tumultuous start, the proposal was an intimate gesture. Schwark showed off her engagement ring while sharing the announcement on Instagram.

Holding her ring finger aloft, the singer admitted she was surprised at the proposal. Chatting to Vogue, the couple revealed the engagement happened on the fly during a trip to Houston.
With no idea of the impending proposal, Normani said she was told to prepare for a surprise birthday dinner for Metcalf’s sister.
Normani arrived at the Metcalf family home to find flower arrangements, candles, and a cellist and pianist playing.
Taking inspiration from a movie night early in their romance, the NFL player got down on one knee.
Metcalf was said to be in another relationship when he first saw Normani in her ‘Motivation’ music video. For him, it was love at first sight. They sparked romance rumors in 2022.
With 2025 close to the halfway mark, there’s no telling what’s in store for our favorite celebrity couples. Who knows? Maybe Cristiano Ronaldo will surprise all of us and propose to his long-term girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.
