6 injured, several hospitalized after Akuse junction road crash

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed that its Kpong Fire Station responded to a road accident that occurred at Akuse Junction on the Kpong–Tema Highway.

According to the Service, a distress call was received at 1:45 p.m., prompting the immediate dispatch of a rescue team to the scene.

Before the team’s arrival, twenty-one casualties had already been rescued. Six of the injured were transported to the Akuse Government Hospital, while others were taken to Kings and Queens Hospital and St. Martins De Porres Hospital for treatment.

The accident involved a Toyota Hiace with registration number GE 6374–22 and a Dodge Ram pickup with registration number DV 4363Z–25.

Personnel from the Ambulance Service and the Akuse Police also assisted in managing the situation.
