6 months and that was the end – NPP Chair blames NDC for Kumi’s struggles before death

Jeff Konadu has accused the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) of subjecting the late Ernest Yaw Kumi to emotional distress during his short-lived tenure as Member of Parliament for Akwatia.

In an exclusive interview with MyNewsGh, Eastern Regional NPP Chairman, slammed the NDC for their actions following the 2020 election results, claiming they created unnecessary tension that deeply affected Kumi.

“This young man was an MP for just six months, six months and that was the end. He never knew peace,” Konadu stated. “They tormented Ernest Yaw Kumi throughout the process, all because of a fake, fake belief that they had won an election.”

According to him, Kumi was forced to constantly defend his legitimacy, even though he had lawfully won the seat. He revealed that the persistent pressure and false claims from the NDC significantly disturbed the late MP’s peace of mind.

“Now they are back, asking the people of Akwatia to vote for them to go to Parliament. Let’s see what the people say,” he added, implying that the NDC’s past behaviour could influence voter sentiment in the upcoming elections.
