71-year-old Father Of Six Writes BECE In Goaso

At the Ahafoman Senior High Technical School Centre “B” in the Asunafo North Municipal of the Ahafo Region, hundreds of students took the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Among them was Mr. Kwesi Baiden, a 71-year-old father of six (6).
Mr. Kwasi Baiden, who registered as a private BECE candidate, is committed to passing the BECE in order to guarantee a better future and take advantage of the Free Senior High School Policy.

In an interview with Peace FM, Mr. Kwasi Baiden stated that he decided to go back to teaching in order to encourage kids who are on the streets and school dropouts to start their own businesses in Galamsey, Lumbering, Okada, and Pragyia in order to make money, as well as to enroll in TVET through the free SHS program.
The Ghana Education Service’s Asunafo North Municipal Public Relations Officer, Mr. Siaw Isaac, confirmed this information to PeaceNews. He stated that a total of 3,143 candidates—1,631 men and 1,512 women—from 83 public and 33 private schools are taking part in the BECE on Monday.
