GWR: Dance-a-thon attempter gives up after 131 hours

After an astounding 131 hours, Fredrick Boakye’s ambitious quest to break the record for the longest individual dancing marathon has come to an end.

Only 37 hours separated him and his record time from his 168-hour target.

The Kwahu-Obomeng Social Center hosted the dance-a-thon, which got underway on July 11 and was supposed to last until July 18, 2024.

Fredrick finished the marathon ahead of schedule due to tiredness, despite his will and effort.

Fredrick’s 131-hour performance beats the previous record, which was held by Srushti Sudhir, who danced for 127 hours in India, despite not meeting his stated goal.

In order to honor Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and share his love of dancing, Fredrick set out to dance nonstop for a full week to traditional music from the country.

Well-wishers flocked to the location, showing their enormous respect and support for his attempt.
