Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, PhD, will present the 2025 budget to Parliament today, March 11, 2025.
The minister is expected in Parliament at 10 am to present the budget statement.
The budget statement is the first of John Dramani Mahama’s second administration and is expected to give hope to the Ghanaian people.
The finance minister has hinted that the budget will not introduce new taxes but will eliminate some nuisance taxes.
It is expected that the betting tax, COVID-19 levy, and e-levy, among others, will be scrapped with measures to raise revenue for the country announced.
Over the past weeks, the finance minister has been engaging all stakeholders to ensure that the budget is representative enough of the aspirations of the Ghanaian people.
