This budget offers no concrete plans for economic recovery – Amin Adam slams Ato Forson

Former Finance Minister and current Ranking Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee, Mohammed Amin Adam, has accused Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson of misrepresenting economic data in the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy.
Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show, Amin Adam questioned discrepancies in the figures presented by the Finance Minister.
“The Finance Minister claimed that total government expenditure, including discrepancies, stood at 27% of GDP by the end of 2024.
However, the budget booklet itself states that it was 23.7%. So which is which? What he read to the public or what is in the book?” he questioned.
Expressing further skepticism about the budget’s credibility, he criticized its lack of real solutions for the country’s economic crisis.
“This budget does not offer real solutions. It is built on deception, misrepresentation, and a lack of concrete plans for Ghana’s economic recovery,” he stated.
Amin Adam’s critique raises fresh doubts about the transparency of the 2025 budget and its potential impact on Ghana’s financial stability.
