David Nii Commey Ankrah, Henschel Tabi Frempong-Manso, and Benedict Ofori Debrah emerged among the top prize winners, alongside a Liberian student.

David Nii Commey Ankrah claimed the first-place position alongside the Liberian candidate, while Henschel Tabi Frempong-Manso and Benedict Ofori Debrah secured second and third places, respectively. These outstanding students were selected from over 1 million candidates who sat for the 2024 WASSCE across The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone.

The announcement was made at the 73rd Annual Council Meeting of WAEC, held from March 17 to 21, 2025, in Monrovia, where the region’s top academic performers were celebrated.

Debrah, an alumnus of Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School, earned straight A1s in all eight subjects, placing him among the elite trio. He is currently pursuing a BSc in Human Biology at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Similarly, second-place winner Henschel Tabi Frempong-Manso of Kade Senior High Technical School also achieved straight A1s and is now studying at KNUST.

The awards recognize excellence in WASSCE, a crucial academic milestone in West Africa. Debrah credits his success to the rigorous academic environment at Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School, known for producing top-tier scholars.
