Let’s assist the minister – Samuel Dubik Mahama on ECG container saga

Former Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Samuel Dubik Mahama, has urged a collective effort to identify and retrieve the missing ECG containers, emphasizing their importance to the company’s operations.
“I said I will support the minister, and I want all of us to support the minister for those containers to be identified and retrieved. Because they belong to all of us. It’s critical for what we intend to do,” he stated while speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show.
Mahama also addressed concerns about alleged over-procurement, suggesting that incomplete information may have led to misconceptions.
“If you are not given the full picture or you are given a half-baked picture, you will get to this kind of conclusion. There are documents lying down that if they had picked up, they wouldn’t say there’s over-procurement.”
He further stressed that discussions about ECG should not overlook the financial turnaround achieved under his leadership. “The whole aim of the company is to generate revenue,” he emphasized, calling for continued support for the Minister of Energy in resolving the situation.
“Let’s assist the minister. That’s all I’m saying,” he urged.
Maintaining his stance on accountability, Mahama reaffirmed his readiness to clarify his tenure at ECG. “I haven’t done anything wrong. I went to serve, and if I have to account for my stewardship, I’m here to account for my stewardship.”
