Carpenter dies in motorbike crash with parked truck at Dzindziso

Mr. Moses Komla, a carpenter based in Kadjebi, tragically died on the spot after his motorbike collided with a stationary cargo truck, registered WR 3274 C, parked at Dzindziso, a farming community in the Oti Region.

At the time of the incident, Mr. Komla was carrying his friend, Assistant Station Officer (ASO) Edward Amedy of the Kadjebi District Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS). The two were returning from Dodi-Papase, another farming community in the Kadjebi District, when the accident occurred between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm on Sunday, April 6.

Mr. Hamza Lucman, Assemblyman for the Dzindziso Electoral Area, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that he received a distress call about the accident that evening.

“When I arrived at the scene, I found the deceased lying on the ground, while ASO Amedy was also on the ground but conscious,” he recounted.

With the support of residents, the police transported the injured ASO Amedy to St. Mary Theresa Catholic Hospital in Dodi-Papase. The body of the deceased was conveyed to the hospital’s morgue.

Mr. Lucman suggested that the accident might have been caused by the cargo truck, as the driver had parked the faulty vehicle in the middle of the road without any warning signs.

Superintendent Frank Nana Asomaning, the Kadjebi District Police Commander, confirmed the incident to GNA and indicated that investigations are ongoing.
