Ghanaian actor Harold Amenyah is no stranger to the spotlight—but his wife? Not so much.
The celebrated actor gave rare insight into how fame, privacy, and love intersected during one of the most intimate moments of his life—his wedding—in an interview on UTV’s cooking show aired on April 13, 2025.
While much has been said about how private and exclusive the ceremony was, Harold revealed that the decision to keep the wedding under wraps wasn’t entirely his own.
“It was my wife’s decision to make the wedding private. She didn’t fully realize the kind of pressure that comes with marrying a public figure,” he explained.
According to Harold, it wasn’t until the wedding photo mysteriously leaked and the internet exploded with reactions that the reality of public scrutiny truly sank in for his bride.
“The controversy surrounding the wedding made her understand the magnitude of what she’s stepping into,” he said, suggesting that no matter how much one prepares, nothing quite compares to the reality of marrying someone in the public eye.
The actor disclosed that they had decided early on to avoid inviting anyone from the entertainment industry, and the guest list was trimmed to just 100 people—mostly family.
Phones were outright banned from the venue, a clear attempt to give the couple breathing space in an industry known for its lack of privacy.
“My wedding was very private, no phones were allowed. It was boldly written at the entrance,” Harold emphasized.
But one defiant guest managed to bypass the rule, sharing a photo that eventually went viral, sending the couple into damage control mode. Harold revealed they had to rush their official photographer to release professional photos just to manage the public narrative.
