In all things, give thanks

After months of internal reflection and behind-the-scenes postmortem following its defeat in the 2024 general elections, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is stepping into the public eye with a National Thank You Tour slated to begin Saturday, April 26 and end on May 30, 2025.
Announcing the initiative via Facebook, NPP National Organizer Henry Nana Boakye wrote, “The National leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be embarking on a NATIONAL THANK YOU TOUR with the theme; In All Things, Give thanks to God (1 Thessalonians 5:18).”
Boakye added that the party’s regional and constituency executives would be updated with further details of the tour in due course.
This announcement comes on the heels of the official presentation of the 2024 Election Review Report by a 12-member committee chaired by former Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye.
The closed-door presentation took place on Wednesday, April 16, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra. Former President Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and former running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh were present, signaling the importance the party attaches to the report’s contents.
The committee was formed to investigate the reasons behind the party’s electoral loss and to provide a clear roadmap for recovery.
However, Prof. Oquaye remained silent on the details of the findings during the handover, telling the media that commentary would be withheld for now.
With anticipation still thick around what went wrong at the polls and how the party intends to chart its way forward, the Thank You Tour is expected to offer the leadership a platform not only to show gratitude but also to begin reconnecting with the grassroots base.
“This process is not just about gratitude—it’s a reaffirmation of our unity, faith, and collective resilience as a political family,” a regional party executive told journalists on the sidelines of the event.
