You did worse than the demons—Gordon Asare-Bediako fires back at Prof. Frimpong Boateng

Seasoned Ghanaian journalist Gordon Asare-Bediako has launched a scathing response to former Environment Minister Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, following the latter’s recent comments suggesting that “demons” have taken over leadership positions in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking on Movement TV, Gordon did not mince words. He took issue with Prof. Frimpong Boateng’s assertion that all NPP executives should resign because the party is allegedly being influenced by dark forces.

According to Prof. Boateng, unless these “demons” are removed from leadership roles, the party’s fortunes will continue to dwindle.

But Gordon Asare-Bediako believes the former minister’s remarks are not only hypocritical but also deeply ironic.

“If you say there are demons in the NPP, then you must be a principality,” Gordon said. “You did worse than the demons in the NPP. You are part of the reason galamsey increased in Ghana.”

The journalist accused Prof. Boateng of having presided over an era that saw a surge in illegal mining (galamsey), despite his role as head of the now-defunct Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM).

Gordon further described the former minister as a “dubious man” who is bitter and envious, implying that Prof. Boateng’s latest comments are fueled more by personal resentment than genuine concern for the party or the country.
