NPP must stop using people for campaign and dump them after winning power

Former Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has told the leadership of the New Patriotic Party to learn lessons from their defeat in 2024.

According to him, the party must ensure that these lessons stay with them after they have won the 2028 elections so that they don’t repeat the mistakes they made that cost them power.

He is of the view that over the period, the party has not acknowledged people who work hard to ensure they are brought to power.

To him, it is about time people who sacrifice their time to actively work get appreciated when the party has power and not people who are just close to those who have power.

In a social media post he said “Another area that could energize the base of the party is to make it mandatory for only members in good standing, those who pay dues and those who actively participate in party activities at all levels of the party structures (constituencies, Regional and National party), to be appointed to government positions when the party is in government. Those who work hard for the party must be rewarded”.

He used the opportunity to call all members of the New Patriotic Party to work towards bringing the party back to power.

“All hands must be on deck and ready for the electoral battle ahead of us in 2028,” he said.
