Not less than GHC 340M allocated for schools—Dr. Apaak

Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to Ghana’s educational sector, particularly under the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In an interview on Joy FM, Dr. Apaak stated that despite the current transitional phase, the necessary financial provisions have been made to support educational initiatives, especially as the new academic year begins.
“What I know, which is what the Minister has said, is that commitment is being fulfilled. I say it’s being fulfilled because, as of the time students were reporting to school, the John Dramani Mahama-led NDC government had not yet presented a budget,” he noted.
Dr. Apaak emphasized that the budgetary allocations have already been considered, highlighting a projected expenditure of not less than 340 million Ghana cedis to support the initiative.
“You heard the Minister very clearly that we expect to spend not less than 340 million Ghana cedis there, about on this exercise.
That is the baseline we are working from, it could be more, it could be less, depending on the enrollment,” he explained.
He further assured Ghanaians that the resources needed to carry out these educational commitments have been allocated and would be made available as needed.
“The allocation has been made, and we expect that the resource will be available to undertake the commitment, as we know for a fact,” Dr. Apaak added.
