Accra to host group stage draw for 2025 CAF schools football tournament

The excitement is building as the draw for the group stages of the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship is set to take place on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the MultiChoice Ghana Limited head office in Abelenkpe, Accra.

Scheduled for 2:00 PM GMT, the draw ceremony will be streamed live on CAF TV via YouTube, giving football fans across the continent an opportunity to witness the first step in this year’s tournament journey.

Ghanaian football icon Asamoah Gyan and Côte d’Ivoire women’s national team coach Clementine Toure will be special guests assisting with the draw.

Their presence underscores the growing importance of the competition in nurturing future football talent across Africa.

Also expected at the ceremony are celebrated football legends, including Abedi Pele and Adjoa Bayor from Ghana, Robert Kidiaba from DR Congo, and Amanda Dlamini from South Africa.

These figures will not only attend the draw but will also provide mentorship and support to the young athletes throughout the competition.

Now in its third edition, the CAF African Schools Football Championship has become the premier U-15 inter-school football tournament on the continent, offering boys and girls a platform to showcase their talent on an international stage.

This year’s competition will take place at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra, kicking off on Wednesday, April 23, with the grand finale slated for Saturday, April 26, 2025.
