Former Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has disclosed that he will be touring the country with colleagues who contested him in the primaries.
According to him, he is departing from the norm and ensuring that the party presents a united front as they tour the country to thank Ghanaians.
He made this known while addressing party folks at the party’s headquarters on April 23, 2025.
Unlike previously, he has said that the party leadership and all contestants in the party’s primaries ahead of the 2024 elections have been invited to join to present a united front to the party folks and Ghanaians.
“If we are united, we are going to win 2028. If we are not united, we will have a challenge. Because I want us to be united, this is why I am departing from the normal thank you tour that we have held. Normally, whether it is Adu Boahen, whether it is Kufuor, or whether it is Akufo-Addo, the presidential candidate has just basically gone ahead and done a thank-you tour.
We are doing it differently this time because I want unity, and that is why I have said that I want to go with the party and also to invite my former contestants. The aspirants who contested me for the primaries. They should come and we will all go and do the thank-you tour so that we all show a united front for the party so that we can all build on it going forward,” he said.
The New Patriotic Party will begin their nationwide thank-you tour on April 26, 2025, in the Western Region. The tour is expected to end on June 4 in the Central Region of Ghana.
