Dr. Justina Adams named valedictorian at UCC School of Graduate Studies congregation

The University of Cape Coast has named Dr. Justina Adams as the Valedictorian of the 15th Session of the 57th Congregation held for graduands of the School of Graduate Studies.

Her remarkable academic journey and dedication to excellence earned her the prestigious honour among this year’s cohort of postgraduate students.

Born on May 18, 1992, in Enchi in the Western North Region, Dr. Adams began her educational journey at Enchi Methodist School.

She continued to Fiaseman Secondary School in Tarkwa, where she laid a solid foundation for her future academic pursuits.

In October 2012, she gained admission to the University of Cape Coast to study for a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, a programme she successfully completed in May 2016.

Her thirst for knowledge and professional advancement led her to pursue a Master of Commerce (MCom) in Accounting, which she completed in September 2019.

In January 2022, Dr. Adams commenced her PhD in Business Administration, a journey she completed in September 2024.

Her doctoral research focused on “Cultural Origin, Green Reporting, and Firm Performance of Listed Manufacturing Firms in Sub-Saharan Africa,” a study that explores the intersection of cultural heritage, environmental sustainability, and corporate performance.

Her research interests extend to how the cultural backgrounds of CEOs and holding companies influence green reporting practices and overall firm performance. She also focuses on key areas such as risk management and corporate governance.

Currently, Dr. Adams serves as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Accounting at the School of Business, University of Cape Coast. She is also a qualified Chartered Accountant, combining academic excellence with professional expertise.

Beyond her academic and professional achievements, Dr. Adams is a devoted member of the Methodist Church Ghana. She is also an avid football fan and a staunch supporter of Liverpool Football Club, now managed by 45-year-old Arne Slot. She is married to Prince Charles Adubofour.

The University community celebrates Dr. Justina Adams for her exceptional achievements and dedication to scholarly excellence. Her journey stands as an inspiration to many young scholars and professionals across the country and beyond.
