NPP’s absence from power has been felt; Ghanaians miss us

Former vice presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh, has noticed that the absence of the NPP from power has already been felt in the last three months.

“I pointed out that the absence of the NPP has already been felt by the people of Ghana, and the only obstacle to our success would be internal division. A fragmented party, no matter how strong its Flagbearer, stands no chance of winning elections.”

According to him, it is clear that the development of Ghana lies in the hands of the NPP.

However, the only obstacle to the party’s success would be internal division.

He is of the view that a fragmented party, no matter how strong its Flagbearer, stands no chance of winning elections.

Therefore, there will be a need for leaders to play a role in fostering unity within the ranks, indicating that party leaders must stand firm against any forces that aim to divide the party.

Napo, as he is popularly called, made this call when he visited the Bono East Region to thank the leadership of the party for their support during the 2024 elections.

He post shared after his visit read “In the early hours of Thursday, April 24, 2025, I had the privilege of meeting with the NPP Regional Chairman for Bono East and his constituency chairmen in Wenchi.

The meeting was an opportunity to express my deepest sense of gratitude for their unflinching support and leadership, even in the face of our recent loss.

During our discussions, I reminded them that the strength of a united party is essential for victory in 2028.

I pointed out that the absence of the NPP has already been felt by the people of Ghana, and the only obstacle to our success would be internal division. A fragmented party, no matter how strong its Flagbearer, stands no chance of winning elections.

I emphasized the critical role these leaders play in fostering unity within our ranks. They must stand firm against any forces that aim to divide us. United, we stand tall; divided, we fall!

I reaffirmed my commitment to a united NPP and to the hard work ahead as we strive to reclaim power in 2028″.
