GMet forecasts hot day with isolated thunderstorms across Ghana

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a weather forecast warning of high temperatures and possible thunderstorms across the country today.
According to GMet, temperatures are expected to soar, with the northern sector recording the highest at 39°C, while the forest zone could see highs of up to 34°C.
The coastal sector will experience slightly cooler conditions with maximum temperatures around 33°C, and the transition zone is expected to peak at 35°C.
In the early hours, residents along the coast, forest, and mountainous areas should expect patches of mist and cloudy skies, with a chance of rain, particularly in the forest regions and areas just north of the coastline.
As the day progresses, sunny conditions are forecast to dominate most parts of the country, although there will be occasional cloudy intervals.
However, GMet cautions that thunderstorms—possibly accompanied by rain—are likely to develop in various parts of the country from the afternoon into the evening.
These could affect both urban and rural communities, potentially disrupting outdoor activities.
The agency advises the public to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and take precautions against changing weather conditions throughout the day.
