Ghana School Feeding Programme terminates caterers’ contracts nationwide

The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has announced the immediate termination of contracts for all caterers involved in the programme across the country.
In an official statement issued on May 2, 2025, the GSFP instructed that no existing caterer should provide meals for students during the third term of the 2024/2025 academic year.
“Please be informed that contracts of all caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Programme nationwide have been terminated with immediate effect.
Accordingly, no existing caterer on the programme should cook for the third term of the 2024/2025 academic year,” the notice stated.
Despite the sudden termination, the GSFP assured affected caterers that payments for the second term of the 2024/2025 academic year would be processed.
“All outstanding arrears for the second term will be paid in due course,” the statement added.
The GSFP also mentioned that this decision is part of a broader restructuring exercise and indicated that new recruitment guidelines for caterers will be announced in the near future.
This restructuring is expected to bring improvements to the programme, ensuring better management and execution going forward.
