NPP needs a national repentance conference – Prof. Gyampo recommends

Yaw Gyampo has offered what he calls “free consultancy” to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), urging them to abandon their current Thank You Tour and instead seek forgiveness from Ghanaians.

“The NPP must hold a National Repentance Conference that brings all of them together before God to plead for forgiveness,” he wrote.

“Afterwards, they must go on a National Sorry and Apology Tour where no one among them dissociates themselves from the harm done to Ghanaians.”

He emphasized that all members of the party must accept responsibility for their tenure under former President Akufo-Addo and not try to escape blame.

“The surreptitious and sometimes open attempt at dissociating one’s self from the shambolic performance of the NPP under Mr Akufo Addo is politically uninformed and childish.”

Gyampo further criticized the current NPP leadership, noting that their mandate is outdated due to the electoral defeat.

He concluded that any attempt to move forward must begin with a genuine pacification process involving both divine and public contrition.
