NPP must seek forgiveness before saying ‘Thank You’ – Prof. Gyampo

Political science professor and acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority, Professor Ransford Yaw Gyampo, has described the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) post-election Thank You Tour as misplaced and arrogant.

In a statement shared on his social media page, sighted by MyNewsGH, he said the gesture lacked proper context given the party’s poor performance in office and the extent of public dissatisfaction.

“‘Thank you’ in human tradition, is typically used to express gratitude when someone does something helpful or kind for you,” he wrote.

“Within the above context, I find the NPP Thank You Tour problematic. It is either they don’t know when to say thank you or they are still taking Ghanaians for granted by still showing how arrogant they have congenitally been.”

He further accused the party of lowering the standards of governance and gaslighting citizens. “We were hungry and they said we weren’t hungry,” he noted.

“Their handling of our economy was as if they hadn’t been to school before and their show of greed in stealing was in the roof.”

Prof. Gyampo insists that the NPP must instead organize a “National Repentance Conference” and follow it up with a “National Sorry and Apology Tour” before even thinking of expressing gratitude to Ghanaians.
