We lost business allies due to over-centralisation – NPP’s Ofosu Nkansah admits

Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has taken to social media to share a candid reflection on governance and economic inclusivity, stressing the need to decentralise opportunities if his party regains power.

“Next time we get power, one thing we must guard against is over-centralisation of opportunities. A contract that 10 people can do, they will give it to one person. We lost a lot of our business community friends because of this,” he wrote in a Facebook post sighted by MyNewsGH.

Ofosu Nkansah’s statement appears to acknowledge internal shortcomings that may have strained the NPP’s relationship with private sector allies.

The former NEIP boss did not name specific individuals or contracts but hinted at the broader implications of monopolising economic benefits among a select few.

The post attracted varied reactions from users across the political and professional spectrum.

Some praised his honesty, while others criticised what they described as a “too-late confession.”

Below are a few sampled comments:

Saint Yehowa-Da: And also monitor the activities of your aides and personal assistants. Majority of them really duped Ghanaians in the name of employment. Sitso Dela: I don’t think we will taste power again, Because Ghanaians are loving Mahama. And it will not be easy for us.

Ofori Amanfo Evans: Sometimes when you sit and listen to the saga coming out it was too much just eight years and look at what Kwabena Adu Boahen was able to accumulate, whiles most of the youth did not even get one cedis, but they were deductible from E-evy and you think the youth who can think properly will come and follow your party again, never
