I may not have a card, but I’m NDC at heart

Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has publicly declared his strong allegiance to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), affirming his intention to remain with the party for the foreseeable future.

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central made the remarks during an appearance on Upside Down on Channel One TV on Sunday, May 4.

According to him, his commitment to the NDC goes beyond party membership formalities.

“I am a member of the NDC. I have never inherited enemies. For now, I am enjoying my time with the majority. I see myself being a member of the majority for a very long time,” he stated.

A Plus dismissed criticisms that questioned his political loyalty on the basis of not holding an official party card, emphasizing that his principles and affiliations speak louder than paperwork.

“If I say I am a member of the NDC, they would say I don’t have a party card, but I am with the majority,” he noted.

He also took the opportunity to commend the leadership of the NDC, singling out former President John Dramani Mahama for praise.

A Plus cited Mahama’s vision and intentions for the country as key reasons for his alignment with the party.

A Plus, who entered Parliament as an independent candidate, has increasingly aligned himself with the NDC since the 2024 elections, sparking debate over his political identity and future within Ghana’s party landscape.
