New twist in VeryDarkMan’s arrest as Mercy Chinwo faces accusation

The controversy surrounding the recent arrest of outspoken social commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM) continues to unfold, with a new theory now pointing fingers at gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.

In a post shared on social media, Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop suggested that Chinwo may have had a hand in VDM’s arrest, citing her reaction to a private message he sent her on Instagram.

According to him, after reaching out to both Chinwo and her husband to advocate for VDM’s release, he was blocked.

“Mercy Chinwo blocked me on IG last night because I told her and her husband to free VDM,” he wrote.

“It’s laughable how a minister of God would just block me for saying the truth. Next, they will use police to harass me now, watch.”

VeryDarkMan, who is currently in police custody, is believed to have been arrested over his public remarks concerning Mercy Chinwo’s past dispute with her former record label boss, Eezee Tee.

The outspoken critic and the gospel singer have been entangled in a legal battle over defamation-related claims.

While law enforcement authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the reason behind VDM’s arrest, Stanley Ontop’s claims have added a new dimension to the public conversation, sparking renewed debate online about freedom of expression, celebrity influence, and the role of the police in civil disputes.
