Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to investigate the assault on his life by an officer of the service.
The petition, dated May 5, 2025, said the investigation is necessary to debunk certain media reports that create a different picture about the incident.
His petition comes after the police had issued a statement inviting him to assist in an ongoing investigation.
The minority leader has since provided an elaborate explanation of the incident and is hopeful that the Police will investigate it.
