Thomas Partey reveals his full-time job outside football no one expected (Video)

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has shared that when he’s not playing football for Arsenal or the Black Stars, he spends most of his time caring for his daughter, Alaia.

When asked what he does in his spare time in a fun Q&A with The Footy Culture, Partey said:

Taking care of my daughter. And it is a full-time job.

Partey and his partner, Janine Mackson, had their first child last year. The couple had reportedly been dating privately before getting married in a quiet ceremony.

The Arsenal star, who is having a solid season with over 40 appearances in all competitions, says he loves watching Alaia grow and enjoys the experience of being a hands-on dad.

Reflecting on his football journey, Partey said Colombian striker Radamel Falcao was the best player he has ever played alongside. He also admitted that facing Barcelona legends Lionel Messi, Xavi, and Iniesta were some of his toughest moments on the pitch.

If he hadn’t become a footballer, Partey revealed he would have pursued a career as a painter.

Partey’s future at Arsenal

Meanwhile, his Arsenal future has taken a surprising turn as the club has begun last-minute talks to keep him, according to Football Insider.

The Ghanaian midfielder’s contract at the Emirates is set to end this summer. He joined Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in 2020, and with his deal running out, many expected him to leave for free at the end of the season.

Over the past few months, Partey has been linked with big-name clubs like Barcelona, Juventus, and several Saudi Arabian teams.
