CHASS proposes a unit in Ghana Police Service to man security in High Schools

MyNewsGh.com has learned that as part of proposals to the Education Minister to ensure discipline in various senior high schools, the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) has proposed a unit created in the Ghana Police Service to ensure security in the various senior high schools across the country.
CHASS believes that discipline in the various senior high schools is under threat, and having trained, uniformed men at the various exit points of campuses will help ensure discipline.
CHASS holds the view that currently, security men who are hired for the various senior high schools lack the needed training to ensure schools are secured and students are checked, so creating a unit for senior high school security is the best way to go.
The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) made this proposal as part of proposals to the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu when they met in Sunyani.
The association is hopeful that their proposal will be given some thought and implemented to ensure high disciplinary standards in the various high schools in the country.
