Koo Fori granted ₵320k bail after pleading not guilty to $50k fraud charge

Ghanaian comic actor Koo Fori, known in private life as Samuel Seth Kwabena Kyere Karikari, has been granted bail by the Dansoman Circuit Court in the sum of ₵320,000 with three sureties after pleading not guilty to charges of defrauding a US-based Ghanaian of $50,000.
The actor, famed for his role in the popular Efiewura TV series, appeared before the court on Monday, May 12, 2025, following his arrest by the Accra Central Police Command on Friday, May 9.
He faces a charge of defrauding under false pretences, after allegedly collecting the amount from a California-based individual under the pretext of facilitating a legitimate investment opportunity.
According to police sources, Koo Fori failed to honour the terms of the agreement and subsequently went into hiding.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, filed a complaint after multiple failed attempts to retrieve the money.
Investigations further revealed that the actor ignored a court summons to appear before the Dansoman District Court on April 17, 2025. His non-compliance led to a bench warrant being issued for his arrest.
The case has been adjourned for further proceedings.
