NPP compares Sammy Gyamfi to Cecilia Dapaah

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called for the immediate interdiction of Sammy Gyamfi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, pending a thorough criminal investigation into his recent conduct.
At a press conference on Tuesday, May 13, NPP National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye cited growing public concern over a viral video showing Sammy Gyamfi allegedly handing out crisp dollar bills to self-styled prophetess Patricia Oduro Koranteng, popularly known as Agradaa.
The video has sparked outrage and prompted widespread calls for accountability from political figures and civil society groups alike.
“We also call on the President to immediately interdict Mr. Sammy Gyamfi as acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board — or at least, he should interdict him pending the conduct of the investigation by the criminal investigation authorities of the state,” Nana Boakye stated.
Referencing previous high-profile cases, Boakye pointed to the scandal involving former Minister Cecilia Dapaah, whose residence was reportedly robbed of substantial cash sums.
He drew parallels to the Dapaah case, saying, “We cannot but remember when huge sums of money were reported to have been stolen from the residence of Madam Cecilia Dapaah, a woman who had worked in high places for over forty years… married to a well-known, wealthy architect and consultant with nearly sixty years’ experience.”
He further recalled the actions taken by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) in the Dapaah case, emphasizing, “Investigations were duly conducted by the OSP against Madam Cecilia Dapaah and her husband after what the OSP described as seven months of extensive investigation and four months of collaborative inquiry.”
The NPP believes similar urgency and transparency must be applied in Gyamfi’s case to maintain public trust in state institutions and the fight against corruption.
