No internal campaign activities allowed until nominations open – NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a directive barring all forms of internal campaign activities until official nominations are opened, emphasizing its commitment to fairness and unity within the party.
In a statement dated Wednesday, May 14, 2025, and signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party cautioned prospective aspirants and members against engaging party executives or structures for support ahead of time.
“Until official nominations are duly opened, no individual is permitted to engage party executives or party structures in any form of campaigning or soliciting support for internal positions,” the statement read.
The leadership described the directive as a necessary measure to protect the integrity of the party’s internal electoral processes and to maintain discipline as the NPP strategizes for the 2028 general elections.
It warned that early campaigning undermines party authority and disrupts strategic planning efforts currently underway.
“We therefore urge all members, supporters, and stakeholders to fully cooperate with this directive and refrain from any activities that could compromise party unity or the integrity of our processes,” it added.
The NPP assured members of its commitment to transparency, inclusiveness, and due process, noting that detailed timelines and guidelines will be communicated when nominations officially open.
The leadership thanked members for their continued support and urged everyone to rally behind ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the next elections.
