ECG announces power cuts for May 15 due to maintenance works

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced both emergency and planned maintenance activities scheduled for Thursday, May 15, 2025, in parts of the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions.
These efforts are part of ongoing initiatives to enhance service reliability and ensure a more stable electricity supply.
In the Greater Accra Region, ECG will undertake emergency maintenance work from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Areas expected to be affected include Tseaddo, Marie Court Estate, Avenue Junction, New England, and surrounding communities.
ECG has expressed regret for any inconvenience this may cause to residents and businesses.
Meanwhile, in the Ashanti Region, three planned maintenance exercises are slated for the same day:
- First Operation (9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.): Power supply will be disrupted in Adankwame, Achiase, Kronum Cement, Nketiah, Asuofua, Adugyama, Offinso, Kokote, Abira, Tetrem, Barekese, Ntiri Buoho, Hemang, KCG, Namong, Ahenkro, Denase, Akrowa, Kodie, Apagya, Akrofrom, Patasi, Aduman, and Aduamoah.
- Second Operation (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.): Communities such as Fawoade, Mamponteng, Ntonso, Asenemaso, Aboaso, Hemang, Tano Dumase, Ankaase Hospital, Adwumakase, Dumanafo, Mpobi, Ejuratia and nearby areas will experience outages.
- Third Operation (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.): Power will be interrupted in Piase, Deduako, Mim, New Brodakwaw, Beposo, Nyameani, UNICEM, Abono, Obo, Nyametiase, Nkoainkwata, Abretwen, Sawaba, Denase, Abenkyim, Anwiankwanta, Awhia, Dominase, Bhenase, Ntinanko, Poano, Daa, Apaaso, and Asanso.
ECG has assured the public that these maintenance activities are essential to improving the consistency and reliability of electricity supply.
The company apologises for any inconvenience and advises residents in affected areas to take appropriate precautions and make necessary preparations.
