56 ministers are resetting the country peacefully after just 130 days – Franklin Cudjoe defends Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama’s ministerial appointments continue to generate public interest and political commentary.
With just five months into his return to power, the President has so far appointed 56 ministers—almost reaching the 60-minister cap he promised during his campaign.
While this move has drawn sharp criticism from some executives of the main opposition party, IMANI Africa President, Franklin Cudjoe, has offered a contrasting perspective—defending the appointments as a positive step toward rebuilding the country.
Taking to his Facebook page, Franklin Cudjoe addressed the political tension surrounding the appointments. He wrote:
“President promised to reduce the number of ministers from 120 to 60. Five months on, he has appointed 56.
“An executive of the main opposition party says the president is indecisive. Hmm 120 ministers appointed under the immediate past government damaged the country extensively.
“56 ministers are resetting the country peacefully after just 130 days. What is happening to my friends in the leading opposition party? Good night.”
Cudjoe’s remarks suggest that the opposition’s criticism may be politically motivated rather than rooted in genuine concern for efficiency.
By drawing a comparison between the previous administration’s 120 ministers and Mahama’s current 56, he positions the current government as more disciplined and measured in its approach.
