Unity is possible, but we’ll call out those who sabotage it — Boakye Antwi

During the live Metro TV discussion monitored by MyNewsGh, Eugene Boakye Antwi showed deep concern about the internal fractures within the NPP, emphasizing that real unity demands commitment from all factions.
The host raised a point about former presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s efforts to unite the party, noting that some internal supporters, like Jopone, had dropped out of unity campaigns citing insecurity, while others like Kjo Safuku remained.
Is the party genuinely committed to unity? Boakye Antwi answered, “Unity is possible under the current structure, but those not ready to unite will be called out at the proper time. Nobody in the party is scared of anyone.”
He elaborated on the transient nature of power in politics, sharing his own recent experience of losing his parliamentary seat: “Power is transient. Five months ago, I was MP for Subin; today, I am a former MP. But I remain a bona fide party member. Leadership requires balance, fairness, and firmness.”
When asked about the alleged misbehavior of party leaders blocking unity, he said, “You call them into conclaves, talk to them, and as leaders, you must embrace everybody. It is your duty.”
