Thunderstorms to hit all regions this afternoon

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued its 24-hour weather forecast for the country, warning residents to prepare for mist and fog in the early hours followed by thunderstorms and rain showers from the afternoon through the evening.
According to the forecast valid from 6 a.m. today, mist or fog patches are expected to form this morning in coastal, mountainous, and forested areas. As the day progresses, most parts of Ghana will experience intervals of sunshine interspersed with cloud cover.
However, GMet predicts that from this afternoon into the evening, thunderstorms and rainfall will develop across all sectors of the country.
City-specific temperature and weather conditions indicate morning temperatures ranging from 24 to 38 degrees Celsius, with afternoon highs between 26 and 38 degrees Celsius. The evening will see temperatures generally cooling to the mid-20s in most areas.
In Accra, the capital, the morning will start cloudy, moving to periods of sunshine and some cloud cover by afternoon, with temperatures reaching a high of 37 degrees Celsius. Mist is expected this morning in coastal cities such as Cape Coast and Takoradi, with thunderstorms likely in the afternoon and evening.
Northern regions such as Tamale, Yendi, and Bolgatanga will experience partly cloudy conditions in the morning, sunny spells in the afternoon, and thunderstorms later in the day, with highs around 35 to 38 degrees Celsius.
GMet also warned that the sea state is rough, advising caution for maritime activities.
Residents are advised to take appropriate precautions, especially those in flood-prone and low-lying areas, and to stay updated on weather developments through official channels.
