I’ll never do it again – BBNaija’s Doyin says Nigerian reality shows distorted her image

Reality TV star and media personality, Doyin David, has made it clear that she’s done with Nigerian reality shows—for good.
The former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate says the experience was overwhelming and misrepresented who she truly is.
In a candid revelation, Doyin shared how her stint on BBNaija deeply affected her mental health and shaped public perception in ways she didn’t expect—or appreciate.
“My experience being on a reality show was mad. Very very crazy experience. I will never do it again in my life, not for any amount. Except it is a show outside the country,” she said.
According to her, one of the most frustrating aspects was the editing and storytelling behind the scenes.
“They portray you the way they want to. They have given everybody an impression of you that are not really true,” Doyin lamented.

She also touched on the harsh criticism from the public, especially from Nigerian audiences, stating that many people continue to judge her based on an image that isn’t reflective of her real personality.
“A lot of people think some things about my personality, that is not really who I’m at all. But Nigerians are too judgmental, so I’m not blessing them with my presence ever again.”
Doyin, a trained medical radiographer turned content creator and influencer, rose to fame through the BBNaija Level Up season in 2022.
She has since carved a niche for herself as a talk show host and vocal advocate for self-expression and mental wellness.
Despite her growing influence online, Doyin’s latest remarks confirm she’s drawing a clear line between her personal truth and the pressures of reality TV.
