Politics is demanding, but preaching is my greater honour

Rev. John Ntim Fodjour, former Deputy Minister for Education and current Member of Parliament for Assin South, has opened up about why he prefers the title “Reverend” over the more common “Honorable” used by his parliamentary colleagues.
“Most people prefer to be called honorable, but for me, it’s always been ‘Reverend.’ I even prefer ‘Fodjour,’” he told Roselyn Felli in an interview on Joy Prime monitred by MyNewsGh. “It’s nice that way—simple and easy to say.”
For Rev. Fodjour, who has been an ordained minister for over 12 years, the ministry remains his greatest source of fulfillment.
“The reverend title has been my calling. Working in the vineyard of the Lord is such a great honor,” he said, adding that he prefers not to go by the title alone but to live out the work that comes with it.
Despite his active role in politics, the MP still mounts the pulpit almost every Sunday as a resident pastor at Victory Bible Church, Iselome branch.
“It’s just by the grace of God,” he explained. “Both politics and ministry are time-consuming, so combining the two isn’t easy, but I have a strong support system—associate pastors like Rev. Romes, Rev. Reeves, and my wife, Lady Pastor Tracy, step in when I’m away.”
