These things stay in the database for life

Security consultant Richard Kumadoe has taken a hard stance on the legal team representing former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, warning that their approach to the standoff with the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) could carry lasting consequences—both locally and internationally.
Speaking on 3FM’s Midday News with Beatrice Adu on June 6, Kumadoe did not hold back as he condemned the lawyers’ strategy as a misstep that could have been avoided.
“I was thinking they would have met halfway. Particularly considering the fact that there’s bad blood and confrontation between the OSP’s office and the lawyer. They could have prevented this escalation,” he stated, suggesting that a more diplomatic approach would have served all parties better.
For Kumadoe, the implications go far beyond courtroom drama. “Risk goes beyond the individual,” he warned. “Profiling by law enforcement agencies can ripple through a person’s bloodline, business partners, acquaintances, and even distant associations. These are not things you take lightly… these are things that are going to stay in the database for life.”
The security expert emphasized the need for legal practitioners to rise above egos and prioritize professionalism, especially when national reputation is on the line.
In a bold swipe at those he believes are playing personal politics with the situation, he added, “They tried to say we passed the law exams before you, and it’s not working. I think all lawyers must tread cautiously and let professionalism be at the forefront.”
