Democracy Hub to sue gov’t over decision to deport Chinese galamsyers

Advocacy group, Democracy Hub has given a strong indication that it will sue the government of Ghana in the coming week.
The decision to sue is to challenge the decision by the government to deport foreigners who are engaged in illegal mining.
Announcing this decision, convenor for Fix the country, Oliver Barker Vormawor thanked the people of Ghana whose contribution has helped supported the cause.
He used the opportunity to thank Hannah Bissiw who was seen standing up to the local police.
His post announcing the decision to sue read “ This week Merton & Everett LLP with the support of Pro Bono Legal Impact Fund-PBLIF will be filing a lawsuit on behalf of Democracy Hub (Ghfixthecountry)
The suit will challenge the GoG’s decision to deport rather prosecute the Chinese caught in Galamsey.
Thank you to all those who donated to support this action. Your belief counts!
I want to personally also dedicate this to Hon Hannah Louisa Bissiw for her bravery in leading by example in her confrontation with local police and thugs. This fight for the country’s soul will be won by women with heart and valour
Shalom”.
