2028 elections will be a walk in the park for NDC if Bawumia is fielded—Kpebu

Legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has kicked against fielding Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2028 election.

He argues that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia had the opportunity to redeem his image while in government by apologizing for failing.

However, he focused on justifying his failures and looking for excuses.

He believes “Bawumia can’t sell in an election. He blew the opportunity when he came to government and could not deliver”.

Adding that “He came into the government and saw that things were different, and when he had the opportunity to apologize, he did not. Apologizing would have melted the hearts of the Ghanaian people but he kept justifying himself.

“Bawumia kept looking for excuses, saying he’s only a driver’s mate when the constitution says otherwise. Bawumia is not the right material for the presidency. He has a lot to learn,” he said on Accra-based TV3.

Martin Kpebu explained that what the New Patriotic Party needs is a young and vibrant candidate who will be in the pool for the next eight years because they will not win in 2028.

He believes that if the NPP picks a candidate in his 40s, the party will have the opportunity to market the candidate to the people of Ghana and hopefully win the 2032 election.

Kpebu kicked against all the persons who have declared their intentions to contest for the flagbearership of the political party, indicating that they bring no good to the position and will not represent the future Ghana is looking at.
