Why Sticka hates Bawumia – Lawyer Akbar reveals secret

Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Dr. Stephen Amoah, has come under intense criticism following recent remarks that touched on religion, resource distribution, and political discrimination in Ghana.

In the midst of that controversy, a former party executive, Ahkbar Yussif Rohullah, has accused him of harbouring bitterness after being overlooked for the Finance Minister role.

The situation took a sharp turn after Dr. Amoah, while addressing TESCON students in Kumasi, claimed that Muslims are often denied leadership opportunities in Ghana despite being “divinely linked” to resource-rich areas globally.

“Whether we like it or not, Christians hardly want to vote for a Muslim leader. It is a fact,” Dr. Amoah stated during the engagement.

The comment has since sparked widespread debate across political and religious lines, with many questioning the wisdom and implications of such a statement, especially from a sitting Deputy Minister.

In a fiery response on social media, Ahkbar Yussif Rohullah accused Dr. Amoah—popularly known as Sticka—of projecting his frustration at being passed over for the substantive Finance Minister position.

“Sadly, it is this mentality that drove Dr. Stephen Amoah to a state of bitterness when Dr. Mohammed Amin Anta was made Finance Minister ahead of him. He lobbied badly for it. He blames Dr. Bawumia for the appointment of Dr. Amin Anta,” Ahkbar alleged.

He did not mince words in affirming his support for Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, describing him as the better man for the job.

“The fact is that Dr. Anta is vastly superior to him both in terms of service to the NPP and expertise to run the Finance Ministry. Sticka believes being a Christian made him a better candidate than Dr. Amin. Such a character is dangerous to our party and our nation,” he added.

Ahkbar has since called on the party’s General Secretary to take decisive action.

“I expect the General Secretary to punish this dangerous rhetoric that not only threatens the cohesion of our party but risks obliterating the NPP’s place in national affairs,” he warned.
