Let’s eschew division and unite for victory 2028—Bawumia to NPP Chairmen

Former Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged the party chairmen to work together.
He believes that if the party wants to make a mark and win the 2028 elections, they will have to eschew all forms of divisiveness.
To Bawumia, winning the 2028 election is possible, but it will have to come on the back of unity and hard work.
He made this known while addressing the conference of chairmen in the Ashanti Region on Saturday, June 22, 2025.
He said, “I was privileged and thrilled to interact with our hardworking constituency chairmen at their Caucus meeting in Kumasi. I reiterated the need for us to keep working together, to achieve our shared desire of building a more united and stronger NPP for victory in 2028”.
The New Patriotic Party will go to the polls to elect a flagbearer on January 31, 2026.
Since this announcement, there has been resistance from several quarters to the decision for an early contest.
To critics, they believe that the top-to-bottom approach is a recipe for chaos in the political party, and until the various internal challenges have been surmounted, the party may not be able to win power in 2028.
