With me as flagbearer there’ll be no “Adidigya”—Bryan Acheampong woos former MMDCEs

Flagbearer hopeful and Member of Parliament for Abetifi in the Eastern Region, Bryan Acheampong, has urged former MMDCEs to join him as he captures power to lead the NPP to victory in 2024.

Bryan says the 2028 election is a must-win, and with him as leader of the political party, it will be possible to unseat the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The legislator who was speaking to the former MMDCEs at a meeting in Kwahu courted their support and urged them to go all out for him, as he intends to share the spoils available after winning power.

“I will not win, we will win and if there are any spoils, we will share for the benefit of our party and our country, so that is my invitation to MMDCEs. If you do it, we will hear; if you don’t do it we will hear,” he remarked.

He continued, “I don’t leave my men behind; I don’t leave my people behind. If I win today, it is Bawumia who will hand over to me”.

The New Patriotic Party has set January 31, 2026, as the day to elect a flagbearer for the political party.

The party hopes to elect a leader who will streamline issues in the party and lead till 2028, when the country goes to the polls.

However, the decision by the party’s NEC has faced criticism from major stakeholders in the political party who have described the decision to elect a flagbearer on January 31, 2026, as suicidal to the political party.

They hold the opinion that it will be chaotic for the political party.
