Fixing the lack of public trust in NPP must be a priority not electing a flagbearer

Patrick Yaw Boamah has reiterated his calls for the New Patriotic Party to be fixed before the party elects a flagbearer.
He believes that the party will have to be worked on to be attractive again in order to win an election.
Patrick Boamah who was speaking on Accra-baased Channel 1 Television revealed that the party currently lacks public trust and there will be a need to fix that rather than thinking of electing a leader.
To him, as it stands, the party’s flagbearer will not have a message if elected to lead in the 2028 elections without dealing with the internal issues in the political party.
“I’ve stated on various platforms that I’m against this approach of selecting a flagbearer when we haven’t fixed the party. We need to fix the party to make it attractive again to win an election.
Because those declaring to be flagbearers and what have you, what are we standing on to win a general election. What some of my people forget is that what led to our abysmal performance was the lack of public trust in our party and we need to build that public trust and confidence again.
Because it cannot be that you go to an election and produce this result and all you are interested in is producing a flagbearer,” he explained.
