Seven arrested for robbery at Ashaiman Sakaska Park and Dagomba Junction

The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested seven individuals in connection with a robbery incident at Ashaiman’s Sakaska Park and Dagomba Junction in the Greater Accra Region.

According to a statement signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dede Dzakpasu, Head of the Public Affairs Unit for the Tema Region, the suspects attacked and robbed several victims at gunpoint, making away with mobile phones, electronic devices, and cash.

Initial investigations revealed that the group of assailants stole an iPhone 12 Pro Max, a Samsung A03 Core, an Infinix Hot 40i, and a backpack containing a Dell laptop with its charger, a power bank, and an unspecified amount of money.

The Police, with assistance from members of the public, apprehended two suspects—Moses Kwame Helu and Jonathan Osabutey—at the scene shortly after the attack.

Subsequent intelligence-led operations led to the arrest of additional suspects, including Robert Amekudzi and a juvenile whose name has been withheld, who were found with the stolen backpack and laptop.

Two more suspects—Bernard Dzumador and another juvenile—were later arrested in possession of the stolen iPhone 12 Pro Max and Samsung A03 Core.

All seven suspects are currently in police custody assisting with ongoing investigations. The Police say they will be arraigned before court in due course.

The Ghana Police Service has commended members of the public who assisted in the arrest and reiterated its commitment to ensuring safety and security within the Ashaiman area and beyond.
