Police issue alert on fraudulent recruitment messages

The Ghana Police Service has issued a strong warning to the public to disregard a fake recruitment announcement currently circulating on social media.

In a statement dated June 23, 2025, the Police Administration clarified that no official recruitment exercise is ongoing and described the circulating messages as false and misleading.

“The Service has not announced any new recruitment exercise,” the statement read, adding that all official recruitment processes will be publicly advertised through legitimate channels such as the Police Service’s official website, verified social media pages, and national newspapers.

The Police cautioned the public against falling prey to individuals or groups promising recruitment slots in exchange for money. “These are fraudulent claims, and persons who engage with such scammers do so at their own risk,” the Service emphasized.

The Police further assured the public that it is investigating the matter and that any individuals found to be involved in the illegal recruitment scam will face arrest and prosecution.

Members of the public with information about such fraudulent activities are urged to report to the nearest police station.

The statement was signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs.
